Jenny Schminke

I had the pleasure of meeting artist Jenny Schminke when Mark and I lived in Boston. I admired her work immediately and have since enjoyed following her. Jenny's art puts you in a different world. She has an incredible whimsey in her pieces resulting from the way she uses color and pattern. I also find it very interesting that you can see the layers of her process in her finished pieces. I hope you enjoy her work as well!

A brief bio:

Jenny Schminke grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and earned her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1997, where she studied painting and printmaking. Her primary focus in painting has led her to collage, found object, and mixed media work. Since January 2013, she has been living in Munich with her husband and three sons. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and group exibitions in Munich, Oldenburg, Boston, and throughout the New England area. Currently, her work can be viewed at her studio and coop gallery space KUNST-WERKSTATT at Steinstrasse 59 in Haidhausen, Munich.
